What is this all about?
My name is Forrest. I’m an insurance broker, which means I don’t work for insurance companies. Our independent insurance agency has helped people and businesses get the best coverage, at the best rate, for over 100 years. Our goal at Overman Insurance is to win your business for the long term, and we think the best way to do that is by saving you money in the short term, then making sure you still have the best deal every time your policy renews.
Insurance is important to have and oftentimes impossible to understand. Reading the small print is a great way to prepare your mind for a long, peaceful nap. That’s why I offer a free insurance review. You send me your policy and answer a few questions, and I can tell you whether you’re getting a good deal on your coverage, whether it’s for your home and auto, your business, or anything in between.
Overman Insurance works with dozens of carriers, from nationally recognized brands to specialty carriers. But we’re brokers, which means we work for YOU. We make the carriers compete for your business, and if the carrier you’re with isn’t working out, we’ll take care of it on your behalf.

What makes independent agents better?
Whether you know it or not, you’re familiar with carriers. Carriers are the insurance companies with SO. MANY. COMMERCIALS. You’ve seen them: the Geico Gecko, Jake from State Farm, and Flo from Progressive. They are also the companies that hold your coverage, and to whom you pay your premium. When you buy insurance from a carrier’s agent, you’re interacting directly with that carrier, or insurance company. A Progressive agent cannot sell you a Liberty Mutual policy, for example.

As a broker, I don’t work for the carriers. Our agency has dozens of contracts with carriers, which means that when we’re looking for the best deal for you, we will get a quote from carriers like Liberty Mutual and Progressive and so many others, and bring you the best deal.
We go a step further: if the lowest offer comes from a carrier that hasn’t impressed us lately - whether because they’ve refused to pay a claim or they’re just not striving to make things easy for the customer - we will make sure you know that. We’re not just here to sell you insurance, we’re here to help you understand what you need, what you *don’t* need, and who will best serve you.
